I'm wondering if mentioning Section-8… < confused9998 >

…was the problem.

In my original ad, I said that I accept Section-8 vouchers because I know that a lot of tenants who receive Section-8 support experience discrimination at the hands of unscrupulous landlords. But I'm wondering if the CL filter mistook my mention of Section 8 as evidence of discrimination. To be on the safe side, I removed it from the new ad.

I posted the new ad (below) about 15 minutes ago, and so far it hasn't been booted. Assuming my luck holds, it was either the bullet points or the mention of Section 8. I don't know which it was, but for those who are genuinely trying to help others (I'm looking at you, ex-flagger), it might be a good idea to make a mental note of the Section 8 thing for future advice-seekers.

Thanks again, ex-flagger!

New ad:

I'm the owner and landlord of the bottom floor of a two-story duplex, which is located one block south of The Pueblos in Summerlin.

I've owned this property for 17 years, and I've spent the past four months refreshing and upgrading it. Fresh paint, new interior doors, new door hardware, new overhead fans, new slim-profile microwave, new range, new deep-bowl kitchen sink, new chef's faucet in the kitchen, etc. The place looks better than it did when I first renovated it 17 years ago.

The rental has a backyard patio for grilling and hosting friends, and it's at the end of a col-de-sac, so there isn't much traffic out front. It also has an attached single-car garage, and there's a community pool about 200 feet from the front door.

The entire rental is tiled, and I have beautiful granite countertops throughout. Plus stainless appliances. I've put a lot of love into this place.

The property is walking distance from two parks, four grocery stores (Albertsons, WinCo, Sprouts, and Trader Joes), Lowe's, and lots of restaurants. It's a three-minute drive from Summerlin Parkway and a five-minute drive from I-95.

Rent is $1,895 per month. To move in, I'm asking for first month's rent ($1,895) plus a fully refundable security/cleaning deposit (also $1,895). That's $3,790 total, but I am willing to break that security deposit into a couple smaller payments. I don't charge an application fee.

The tenant will be responsible for gas, electricity, and cable/internet. I pay water, sewer, garbage, and HOA fees.

Please reach out if you have questions or if you'd like to tour the property. I live less than 10 minutes away, and I can come over any time that works for you.

I bend over backwards for my tenants. You won't find a friendlier landlord in Vegas!
