Since I don't eat all that much I tend to have the same few meals on repeat. For breakfast I almost always have a turkey sandwich - turkey, cheddar, mayo and carrots/pickle/onion or tomato. Typically on sourdough, but the bread can vary depending on what is on sale.
But, sometimes, when I am not feeling the usual, I'll take the turkey sandwich and delete the veggies and give a nice smear of orange marmalade. This elevates the sandwich and adds sweetness. Now, I like it just like it is, but this really shines when you sub out the turkey and replace it with a frozen chicken patty.
You can get these chicken patties from Costco. They want to be air fried but you can cheat and microwave them for 2 and a half minutes and they are perfectly cooked. Then you take a nice fluffy kaiser roll, a slice of sharp cheddar cheese, some mayo and a smear of orange marmalade. You instantly get a sandwich that tastes like that delicious Chinese orange chicken that you might get from some place like Panda Express.
